Approx. 12-14 year old female Shiba Inu
Daisy Mae was found stray and taken to a shelter. Her age is estimated at around 12-14 years old. She is a sweet old girl who loves people and is good with other dogs and cats. She is reportedly house trained, but has been having accidents inside since coming into rescue. She was diagnosed with a UTI, which is being treated, but the accidents continue. We are working with the vet to rule out further medical causes, but it may simply be due to her age. Daisy Mae has significant patellar luxation in one of her knees, but unfortunately, is not a good candidate for surgery given her age and the lack of prior treatment. We have her on joint supplements and are managing her arthritis pain and inflammation. It does not seem to effect her mobility at this point, but she does not want to go on any long walks or adventures. She’s happy to be a couch potato! Daisy Mae has been placed in a loving foster home where she is getting the care she needs. Once we are sure her UTI is cleared up, and have a better understanding of her incontinence, we can begin looking for the right forever home for her. Stay tuned!
