Cash/Korben
Cash, now Korben, had been adopted! Korben spent his entire 7 yrs as an outdoor dog in a rural community, with not enough attention from his humans. Allowed to run free and left to entertain himself, Korben got bored and started killing neighborhood chickens. Needless to say, the neighbors were not happy and Korben’s family was afraid he might get shot! :0 Luckily their vet offered to take him in and called us!
Melissa and Adam had a happy home with a Plott Hound named Hobbes and two adorable Shibas; Kiku, and a senior breeder release rescue named Faye. Bringing Faye into their home brought out the best in all of them, especially Kiku, who really come out of her shell. When they tragically lost Faye to cancer, an enormous whole was left in their hearts and home. Kiku took the loss particularly hard and was lost without Faye. Melissa and Adam hoped getting another Shiba would get Kiku back to her normal joyful self, and giving a rescue dog a chance at a better life is really important to them, so they put in an application.
It was obvious at the meet and greet, that Korben belonged there, so we started his adoption trial that day! All the dogs got along famously, and Korben was clearly super excited to have not one, but 2 human’s love and companionship! He’s turned into quite an attention hog and a bit of a cuddle bug, but nobody’s complaining. For a Shiba that had always been given the freedom to roam, we worried he’d be a huge flight risk, but Korben has decided that being a part of a loving family is way more fun than running away and killing chickens! Good choice Korben 😉 Congratulations to Korben, Kiku, Hobbes, Melissa and Adam. What a beautiful family you are!
