Grizzy
11 yr old male Shiba Inu – no dogs – $75 adoption fee:
(Adoption fee sponsored by supporter; Tomoko, and her Shiba, Kolohe)
This handsome gentleman was surrendered because he wasn’t getting along with the other senior Shiba in his home. His family tried to make it work, but ultimately it was in the best interest of both dogs to rehome him.
He may not be a fan of other dogs, but he sure does love humans! Grizzy is happy to meet and charm new people; adults and children alike. He wants to be near his person, and keeps tabs on all household activities at all times. Even nap time should be with his human nearby. He’s no lap dog, but likes affection. He has mastered the art of soliciting belly rubs and butt scratches.
Don’t let that double-digit age fool you; he’s an energetic playful boy! He will bring you a toy in hopes of a long fetch or tug of war session. He enjoys having a yard to explore, but is very enthusiastic about going for walks. He is starting to get arthritis in his front legs and would benefit from a joint supplement and/or CBD. He is sometime slow to get up from a nap, but once he gets going, he keeps a vigorous pace! While out on his walks, he’d prefer that other dogs keep their distance and does not want to say hello.
Grizzy is house trained and let’s you know when he needs to go out. He doesn’t know many commands, but has good manners. He walks well on leash, aside from a little pulling to remind his human to “keep up”! He is a quiet guy, but will give a few joyful squeals when you return home. Grizzy is as curious as he is nimble, and would take any opportunity to escape his yard if he could. He will launch, dig, or squeeze his way out if not properly secured! Grizzy needs to live in a quiet setting. He is very easily spooked by noises and is very anxious is busy, crowded, high-traffic settings.

Grizzy’s adoption fee includes his neuter, vaccinations, microchip, heartworm test and initial supply of prevention. The adoption fee of $75 has been sponsored by a supporter; Tomoko and her Shiba, Kolohe.
