Sephie
FOSTER NEEDED ASAP – 2 yr old female Shiba Inu – NO KIDS – NO FEMALE DOGS – NEEDS A YARD & MALE CARETAKER –
Sephie is a sweet, energetic, but fearful girl who’s had a rough start in life. Born in a puppy mill, sold to a pet store, reportedly abused by her first human (a female), had a litter of puppies at too young of an age, and still intact (not spayed). She is being rehomed because of aggression towards female dogs, including her own grown puppies.
Sephie is very fearful of new people, noises, new objects, or changes in her environment. She is particularly reactive to women and children. She will need a stable, quiet, home with little activity or change. She’d love a male-only home, but at a minimum, needs a male primary caregiver. She should not live with children.
She desperately wants positive human attention, but needs someone with the patience to let her build trust and come out of her shell at her own pace. Applicants experienced with puppy mill survivors, or fearful dogs, are encouraged to apply!
Sephie would love to be an only dog, but might be able to live with a male dog who just ignores her. Her attitude towards other dogs could change once she’s spayed, but this is what she needs right now. She has not been tested with cats.
Sephie is house trained, and loves her crate. Sephie is too fearful to go out for walks right now, and would need to be leash trained. For now she will need a home with a yard for potty breaks.
