This spring’s April showers brought us May flowers, and lots of Shibas in need of major vet care!
This week alone we received estimates of $3,500 for TPLO surgery to repair Kenji’s knee and $1,000 for Yuki’s dental surgery. Then, we unexpectedly spent $1,000 at the ER for Kingsley, who was viciously attacked by another dog!
It seems every year we are seeing more and more dogs in need of major vet care or with serious medical conditions that are keeping them in rescue significantly longer, like Cindy, and Wiley. In some cases these dogs remain in rescue forever; like our “Fospice” dogs Missy and Cece.
COSIR believes it is our duty to provide more than just basic care like spay/neuter and vaccines. Our mission is to ensure every dog with known/suspected health concerns receives the necessary diagnostics, treatments, surgery, aftercare or therapy necessary prior to adoption, regardless of cost. But we need your help to do that!
Colorado Shiba Inu Rescue is a non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, training and rehoming of Shiba Inus and Shiba Inu mixes.
Facebook takes care of the donation processing with no fees. COSIR operates on a shoestring budget and only spends 2% of our annual revenue on administrative costs, the rest is spent on care for our dogs!
