3 yr old male Shiba

Takashi was hit by a car and had severe injuries. He was lucky enough to be taken to the Humane Society of Pikes Peak Region, where he received the surgery he needed and was able to recover in one of their loving foster homes. Once he was cleared by the doctor to be moved, they contacted us. He is just about the sweetest boy you’ve ever met. Full of energy and life, loves other dogs, and has all the typical Shibaness that we love! He will need continue rehab and orthopedic care for some time. Sadly, with all his little Shiba body has been through, he will likely have early onset of arthritis, and will have joint trouble as he ages. We have placed him in a foster-to-adopt home carefully selected from our waitlist. They are committed to his continued care; willing and able to handle any challenges he may face for the rest of his life! They are already such a happy family together, and we will finalize the adoption once we are sure he has completed all of his post-op follow up with the specialists.
