Apollo

FOSTER FOUND!!! – 4 yr old male Shiba –
Apollo is a handsome friendly boy who loves being with his humans. He lost his family 6 months ago because they could no longer care for him. He was taken in by a friend who just wants to be sure he goes to the right home, so they contacted us.
Apollo has lived with kids as young as 12 in his home, and was very bonded to them. He would likely enjoy having older kids in his new home. Apollo is living successfully with 2 other dogs and a cat in his temporary home and there have been no issues. The other dogs in his home do not play, so it is unknown if he will engage with a more playful dog or not. He does love toys and will ask his humans play with him.
Although Apollo is friendly with most people, he was reportedly abused by a tall man at some point, and is therefore, reactive to men 6ft and up. He has however, proven to bond with men that are smaller in stature and soft spoken. He is likely to feel more comfortable in a home where there is a female caregiver to bond with and aid in his transition.
Apollo is house trained and loves his crate. He loves being active. He is accustomed to one 45 minute walk each day, but would definitely do more. He is used to having a yard and does not have a history of escaping. He’s never had any training, but is a good sweet boy. When in the yard and on walks, he will join in with his roommates to alert bark at passing strangers or dogs, but is quiet inside the house. He would likely be responsive to training with the right high value treats.
Apollo is safe in his temporary home. We are looking for an appropriate foster or foster-to-adopt home so that we can bring him into rescue.
