Koda
8 mo. old male, no apts/condos, $400 adoption fee
Koda is a sweet, playful, independent boy. He’s rather large for a Shiba; weighing in around 35 lbs., but should not get any bigger. Like most Shibas, he doesn’t seek out attention from humans, but loves a good neck scratch and belly rubs. He is a bit fearful of new people and things at first but will warm up. He has had limited exposure to children, but seems to be fearful of them and barks at them, so a home without small children would be best.
He is good with all other dogs and loves to play, so any dogs in the home will need to be playful as well. At home he will resource guard toys and food, so he will need adopters who have experience with resource guarding, and know how to handle it if there are other dogs in the home. He has had limited exposure to cats, but barks at them and desperately wants to chase them.
Koda is potty trained, crate trained, and knows some basic commands. He loves his walks and playing in water. He’s really good at catching leaves as they float down the creek! He is pretty good on leash most of the time, but will need continued work on pulling, especially when he sees a bunny, squirrel, etc. He likes to spend most of his time outdoors watching over his yard and soaking up the sun, so he will need a securely fenced yard.
Koda’s adoption fee is $400 and includes his neuter, vaccinations, deworming, heartworm test, microchip, and an initial training class with a rescue approved trainer.
