Daisy Mae
Approx. 12-14 yr female Shiba, no apt/condos, no stairs -$50 adoption fee
Daisy Mae was found stray and taken to a shelter. Her age is estimated between 12-14 years old. She is a sweet, joyful girl who loves people and is good with other dogs and cats. She has not been tested with children. She is crate trained.
Daisy has some special needs that potential adopters will need to be aware of, and be prepared to handle. She has significant patellar luxation in one of her knees, but is not a good candidate for surgery. She is also suffering from a compressed spinal cord that causes her to drag one of her back feet. Adopters will need to continue her daily medications and supplements to manage her arthritis pain and inflammation.
Despite all this, Daisy is a very happy and active girl. She loves going on short walks, car rides, and participating in barn hunts. At this point she can still jump up on furniture to be next to her person, but we are looking for a home with no stairs to reduce the risk of falls and injuries as she continues to age.
Daisy has age-related urninary incontinence, but can wear her doggy diaper when her person is not around to take her outside frequently enough. For this reason, it’s probably best she live in a home with a yard so that she can easily get outside as often as needed.
Daisy is just about the sweetest and cutest old girl you’ll ever meet. She is thriving in her foster home and we know that the right adopter is out there somewhere. Daisy Mae’s adoption fee is $50 and includes her spay, vaccinations, heartworm test, and microchip.
