Genki (now Stitch)
1 yr. old male Shiba, $400 adoption fee
Genki is a total wackadoodle and as sweet as can be! Sadly his story before rescue is one of neglect. He had been mostly confined to his crate, not taken outside to potty, and ignored by his owner. Happily, he is now free to be a dog for the first time in his life! As a result of his lack of interaction with people, other dogs, and the world, he is really just a puppy who’s super excited about everything! He has a lot to learn and needs a family that will be committed to his training and socialization! His foster mom & dad are working on house training, leash walking, and a few basic commands and he’s made good progress. His Shiba foster brother and sister are showing him the ropes and he’s learning how to play and respect boundaries with other dogs. He is as friendly and outgoing as they come and simply wants love, attention, and to be part of the action!
He is quiet and happy in his crate until he hears someone come home and demands to be let out! One you’re home, he’s sure to follow you around everywhere. He has lots of energy, but is happy to curl up in his dog bed after a walk, play session, or some love and affection. He is a cuddler! He would benefit from another well socialized dog in the home to play with and continue to teach him doggy manners. His adopters will need to be committed to continued house training and basic commands. An active family in a home with a consistent schedule and routine is ideal to help with this. He absolutely loves to meet new people, but he has not been tested with kids or cats.
Genki is almost fully recovered from his neuter and dental surgery and is now available for adoption. His adoption fee is $400 and includes his neuter, dental, vaccinations, heartworm prevention, microchip, and basic puppy training class with a COSIR approved trainer.
