Harley has been adopted! –

This good lookin’ boy is Harley. He is 8 year old. Having escaped his home numerous times, he is well known at the local Humane Society. The last time he went for an self-guided adventure, his family told the shelter they didn’t want him back. That’s hard to believe, as he is such an amazing Shiba! He’s yet to meet a foe, even in the 2 or 4 foot human category! He simply loves everyone! If you could see how proud of himself he looked in his last mugshot, you might wonder if he was trying to get rehomed. 😉

Having had 2 Shibas before, Bethany and Zan, are no strangers to the Shibatude that comes in these cute little packages. They’d recently lost their boy Gonzo. He left a huge hole in their hearts, and their cat, Virginia Meow Meow, was wondering where her best friend went. They were ready, willing, and able to give any Shiba in need, that could live with cats, a loving home.

At the meet and greet, Harley had Bethany giving belly rubs on demand. He definitely seemed to approve of his new digs and humans. It was really up to Virginia Meow Meow if he could stay. Within days, it was clear they were destined to be friends, now Harley just needed time to recover from his neuter surgery.

Harley’s incision got slightly infected, but Bethany noticed right away and got him in to the vet. And thank goodness, because it turns out he had a double ear infection too. Bethany and Zan were super diligent about his care and very generously paid for it all, as a donation to the rescue. If Harley really was looking for a new family, boy did he get lucky! I think he knows it too; he’s shown no interest in escaping! And why would he when he gets a few hundred kisses a day from his mom?? He will be nothing less than loved and spoiled for the rest of his life. This is what rescue is all about. Congrats Bethany, Zan, Virginia Meow Meow and Harley! Welcome to the COSIR family!
