Hime
8 y/o shy female, needs another dog in home, adoption fee $175
Hime, meaning princess, is 16lbs of fluffy, beautiful Shiba. She loves her daily walks and play sessions with her foster brother and sister. She loves having a yard and humans that want to hang out in that yard with her. If you like to garden, watch out, this little girl will eat all your broccoli! She loves to toss plushy toys around and napping on her bed. Hime is such a sweetheart and just loves being near her favorite human. In true Shiba form, she needs a little time to warm up to new people, but is very loving once a trust has been built. In fact, she will insist on regular cuddles and kisses from you. For a such a pretty girl, Hime can lack confidence at times, so she needs at least one well-socialized dog in the house so she can follow their lead. They should also be playful to satisfy her need for play.
Hime is potty-trained. She is great in her crate, and will need one in the home as a safe place. She is really good on leash and needs her walks to continually work on her confidence.
Since coming into rescue, Hime had a recurring issue with her right eye. After every attempt to keep the eye healthy, last year we had to remove the eye when it developed into glaucoma. There is some risk that Hime will eventually develop glaucoma in the other eye. She will need to be on preventative drops, and have regular visits to the eye specialist, for the rest of her life. She’s very good about taking her drops.
Hime’s adoption fee is $175 and include her vaccinations, heartworm test, microchip, eye treatments and testing, and de-worming.
