Honey

15 yr old female Shiba Inu –
This precious old lady is Honey. As a puppy mill survivor she is a fearful and anxious dog in general, but with the addition of a new baby in her home her anxiety was through the roof! Her family felt it was in her best interest to let her go to a home where she can relax and enjoy her twilight years.
Honey has been placed in one of best and most experienced foster homes. It’s a magical place we call “Shiba Acres”. Honey’s foster mom has an adorable pack of Shibas that includes mill survivors, so she understands how to cater to Honey’s needs. Upon placement, we could see Honey’s anxiety melt away as she was immediately welcomed into the pack. We think one of the male Shibas is a bit sweet on Honey. He has gone out of his way to make sure she is ok, and has been a perfect gentleman!

Honey’s age is showing with eyes starting to cloud, diminished hearing, and back legs that are weak and arthritic from patellar luxation. Her bloodwork shows that she is in good health. We’ve started her on some supplements for her arthritis, and have her scheduled for a much needed dental. Overall Honey is in good shape, but we just can’t imagine putting her through another traumatic transition to an adoptive home at 15, so she will spend the rest of her days as a hospice foster in her Shiba pack at Shiba Acres, where we know she is happy and safe.
