Hudson
Hudson has been adopted! He has been renamed Jishin, which means earthquake in Japanese. His new dad calls him JiJi for short. It’s been a long bumpy road for our sweet little JiJi. He was in rescue for over a year. At the time he was surrendered he was only 1 yr old, yet he’d already had 3 homes! Even in rescue, he had 2 different foster homes before finding his forever home. He’s a very good example of how unique each Shiba, and their requirements in a human and home can be.
Patrick rescued his first Shiba in Japan, and fell in love with the spirit of the breed. As a single, semi-retired guy he was in a position to devote lots of time to a Shiba that needed some extra attention. When Patrick applied for JiJi, we could not be more thrilled. Patrick and his home were exactly what JiJi needed. He checked all the boxes, on paper at least, now we just had to introduce them.
The meet and greet could not have been better. JiJi is quite a character, but turns out, so is Patrick. 😉 It was clear that they both had just met their new best friend! From day one, JiJi wanted to sleep with Patrick in bed. (pretty unusual for a Shiba). The name Jishin was inspired by the “earthquake” created in the bed when JiJi wakes up and does his first Shiba shake of the day 😉
Patrick has enjoyed watching JiJi develop and mature, as his personality comes out more and more every day. Patrick says JiJi is a joy hang out with, and he is proud to be his human. We know that if JiJi could talk, he’d say he is proud to be Patrick’s dog too. Congrats to Patrick and JiJi!
