UPDATE: ADOPTION TRIAL PENDING – 1 yr old male Shiba, NO DOGS/CATS, NO KIDS UNDER 14 –
Hudson is a delightful happy boy, who loves getting attention and belly rubs from his humans, but he needs to be the only dog in his home. He is dog reactive and needs to keep a safe distance from them on walks. Hudson also cannot be trusted with the cats in his current foster home. We need to find his forever home, or a new foster ASAP!
Like so many of the Shibas we get in rescue, Hudson is damaged by his past. A bad trainer, overly restricted and confined to small spaces, undersocialized, and inadvertently rewarded for unwanted fear response behaviors. We know he is young and smart, and will thrive in him the right environment, with the right adopter.
Hudson has lived successfully with teenagers, but has a bite history, so cannot live with kids under 14. The bites have been the result of extenuating circumstances, but he will need an experienced adopter to ensure he is not put in a position to bite again. He will begin training in his current foster home, but adopters will need to continue to work on training.
Hudson would do best in a spacious home, ideally with a yard, in a community with plenty of wide open spaces to walk without having to pass dogs too closely. He is very much an adolescent puppy and needs a plenty of stimulation and exercise.
Hudson’s adoption fee is $350 and includes his neuter, vaccinations, heartworm test, microchip, and a training class or private session with a COSIR approved trainer.
