Hudson
**ON ADOPTION TRIAL**1 yr old male Shiba, NO DOGS/CATS, NO KIDS UNDER 15 –
Hudson is an adorable, smart, happy boy. He is playful and seeks out attention and pets from his humans. He is afraid of other dogs and doesn’t care for cats. He needs to be the only pet in his home. He has lots of energy and loves to go for walks and sniff adventures, but needs to avoid, or keep a safe distance from other dogs.
Hudson is well trained and a very good boy. He knows sit, laydown, shake, speak and will actually fetch (when he feels like it). He is house trained and crate trained. He has lived successfully with kids age 15 and up who respect his space.
Hudson is already on his 3rd home and he’s only 1 yr old! This has made him an anxious boy who craves human attention and stability. In his first home he was the victim of a bad trainer who’s advice lead to him being overly restricted, undersocialized, and denied a human bond. In his second home he learned to bite when his humans force handling and didn’t respect his space or warnings.
He is getting the stability, attention, and respect he needs in his current foster home. He has not bitten his fosters, as they respect his space. He will need continued work on his reactivity to other dogs and attention seeking behaviors, but he is so smart and very responsive to training. We will continue his work with the vet behaviorist and trainer after placement in his adoptive home during the trial period.
Hudson would do best in a quiet stable home, ideally with a yard, in a community with plenty of wide open spaces to walk without having to pass dogs too closely. He is very much an adolescent puppy and needs plenty of stimulation and exercise. He would also prefer someone who is home much of the time to give him the attention he craves.
Hudson’s adoption fee of $350 and includes his neuter, vaccinations, heartworm test, microchip, and a training class or private session with a COSIR approved trainer. His foster has agreed to sponsor his adoption fee.
