Kito (now Hiroki)
8 yr old male Shiba
Kito is a sweet energetic boy who loves attention. He was surrendered by the only family he’s ever known because he was not getting along with the new male dog in the home. Both dogs were not neutered, so it’s no surprise they were not getting along. Sadly they were not interested in neutering either dog, and chose to rehome Kito. To prevent fights, Kito was kept in his crate pretty much all the time. That’s no life for a dog and he deserves better. He has been placed in a foster home that plans to adopt him. They’ve already given him a new name, Hiroki, which means “abundant joy” in Japanese. If you saw how happy this sweet boy was to be rescued, you’d agree that it’s an appropriate name to go with his new joyful life!
He is getting along great with his new Shiba foster brother and the cats. He has an appointment next week to be neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and tested for heartworm. In the meantime, he is enjoying his new found freedom, including his daily walks to a nearby lake where he tries to catch the fish! He is loving all the love and attention he’s getting and is thriving! We are so happy for the opportunity to give Hiroki a better life and that we found the right foster-to-adopt home that will spoil him rotten, like all Shiba’s should be 😉
