Jorghi
1 yr old male Shiba Inu – No apt/condos, No kids, Needs another dog –
$350 adoption fee
Jorghi spent the first year of his life in a puppy mill, where he was not exposed to humans, or the outside world. He was fortunate to get out of that environment at such young age, but, he is still fearful, a flight risk, and requires an experienced adopter.
Jorghi is a sweet boy who likes people with a kind and calm energy. Adopters will need patience to earn Jorghi’s trust, by allowing him to go at his own pace. He is quicker to warm up to females, so a home where a female can be his primary caregiver would be great. He has done well meeting older children who are calm, and respect his space, but would do best in a child-free home.
Jorghi loves other dogs. He needs another dog in the home to ease his transition. He has lots of energy and loves to play. He does best with younger female dogs that are playful. Other dogs in the home must be well socialized and confident. He has had issues with older male, timid dogs. He has not been tested with cats.
Coming from the puppy mill environment, everything is new to Jorghi, which can be overwhelming. It will take him a while to feel comfortable in a new environment. But once he is, he is a very curious and happy boy! The best home for Jorghi will be one that is stable, in a quiet neighborhood, with a subdued energy. He needs a consistent routine, including regular walks. He is happiest when playing in the backyard, and going for walks. He spooks easily, so needs to wear a specific kind of harness and be double leashed.
Jorghi is house trained and crate trained. The crate is his safe place, so he will always need one to retreat to. He does not, however, respond well to being otherwise confined. He has responded well to basic training with his foster mom, and adopters will need to continue that work.

Jorghi’s adoption fee is $350 and includes his neuter, vaccinations, heartworm test, microchip, and an initial training class or private session with a COSIR approved trainer.
