Koda
1 y/o male Shiba, no apts/condos, needs another dog in the home,$350 adoption fee
Koda is a sweet boy with a uniquely dark “sesame” coloring that makes him very handsome! He comes to rescue from a puppy mill, so everything is new to him and he’s a little unsure of himself. Although he is a bit intimidated by new places and things, he is very friendly with all the people and dogs he meets. He has had limited exposure to children between the ages of 2 and 11, but does well with them as long as they approach him properly. He has not been assessed with cats. He is quite affectionate and loves long full-body rub down sessions!
He needs another well-socialized, mature dog in the home to help him learn the ropes and continue to work on his confidence. He absolutely lives to romp and play with other dogs and does the cutest play bow/hop you’ve ever seen! Like most 1 year old pups, he has a lot of energy and would do best in a family that is active, and has a securely fenced yard. He loves to sunbathe in the yard, and will spend the entire day lounging; moving his spot as needed to keep up with the sun. Like so many dogs rescued from puppy mills, he’s not as comfortable inside the house as he is outside, so he’d do well in a home where people are home a lot, so he can get plenty of outdoor time. He is still a bit fearful coming into the house and won’t do so on his own. He needs to be lead into the house by hand, so this is something his adopter will have to be willing to manage to.
He is potty trained, crate trained, and walks well on leash, but will need basic training. He’s very quiet, but will bark at anything new and unfamiliar to him at first. He has a sweet, awkward goofiness to him that is just so adorable. Koda is going to be a fantastic dog for some lucky family!
Koda’s adoption fee is $350 and includes his neuter, vaccinations, heartworm test, microchip, and an approved training course.
**Please note, Koda is not eligible for out-of-state adoption**
