Koda

11 y/o male, $50 adoption fee

This handsome devil’s official AKC registered name is “King Koda Bear”, and he could not be more appropriately named.  He is as regal as a king, and as big as a bear!  At 38 lbs., he is quite large for a Shiba.  Koda is as sweet as can be; loving and cuddly at times, especially when he’s tired.  He loves meeting new people, including kids, and other dogs.  He is good with cats too.

Don’t let the white hairs in his coat fool you, this guy does not act like an 11 year old dog!  His favorite thing to do is go for long walks.  He will easily do a 2 mile walk, and still wants to keep going!  He would love a family that would take him on hiking adventures in the mountains or on trails.  He is great with other dogs, and loves to play.  He enjoys a good game of fetch with his humans too.

He has a tendency to guard his favorite food toy, a buffalo ear, but will eat his food and take treats next to his foster brother without problems while his foster mom supervises.  Koda is allergic to chicken and beef, so will need a diet made with an alternative protein, and will need to be fed separately if any other dogs/cats in the home eat a food with these proteins.

Koda likes to be near his humans, so he will choose to be wherever you are.  He enjoys sunbathing on the porch, but doesn’t want to hang out outside unless his person is with him.  He loves to curl up on the couch or a comfy chair and it’s not unusual to find him in silly positions; upside down with for paws in the air!  He is house trained and crate trained.  He knows his basic commands and is great on leash.

Koda’s adoption fee is $50, and includes his neuter, vaccinations, heartworm test, and microchip.
