Koda
9 month old male Shiba
Koda’s story is an all too common one. Purchased from a breeder by a well intentioned owner who simply did not understand the breed and how challenging they can be as puppies. Despite their best efforts, Koda quickly got out of control and was tormenting the cat. Koda needed a Shiba experienced home with the time and patience to get him trained, socialized, and show him how to be the good boy we know he can be.
Koda has been placed in an experienced foster home that can work on training and socialization. He has significant anxiety and his lack of impulse control has resulted in a couple of bites. We are also working with a specialist to figure out what would cause such a young dog to have orthopedic pain. Until we have a diagnosis and prognosis, we will not be comfortable adopting him to anyone.
Koda will probably need at least 6 months before he is ready for adoption, therefore, we are not taking applications for him at this time. Once he is ready for adoption, we will look to our adoption waitlist first for the right home. If you would like to apply to be added to our waitlist, please visit our Adoption page to learn more about our adoption process and complete an Adoption Application.
