Leia was surrendered to COSIR because she not getting along with the other dog in her home. This was not Leia’s first home, and much of her history is unknown, but we know she suffered a broken leg at some point and has a metal plate. We are treating Leia for some soreness and irritation at the metal plate site (likely due to anxious licking at it), and she is scheduled for a spay surgery. Give that this will be at least her 3rd home, and everything she’s been through, It was important to us to place her in a very calm, stable home where she could be an only dog. Her home was carefully selected from our waitlist, and her foster plans to adopt her after a trial period.
