Lilly, Payton & Stormy
Lilly (the Shiba) and Payton (a Dachshund/Terrier mix) needed a new home when their human’s circumstances changed and they were now home alone for 16 hours a day! Realizing that was not fair to the dogs, she reached out to us for help. Lilly and Payton are so deeply bonded, to separate them would be unfathomable, so we took them both!
We were thrilled to get an application from Selena and Sam, who were specifically interested in the pair! They were familiar with Shibas and were open to any dogs that would get along with their 2 cats, Claudio and Kira. There was a cat that Lilly and Payton were good buddies with in their current home, so we had a feeling they might like cats in their new home. Lilly and Payton’s transition went smoothly, everyone was getting along, and they were loving all the attention they were getting.
About a month later, we got a call from their former owner. Her cat, Stormy, went into a deep depression after the dogs left and she was looking for a referral to a cat rescue. We decided to take a chance and asked Selena and Sam if they’d consider taking Stormy too. With 2 cats, and now 2 dogs, their home was already full. It was a long shot, but we had to ask. Apparently Selena and Sam’s hearts are bigger than their home, because they were willing to adopt Stormy too!!!!
When we brought Stormy over, Lilly and Payton were ecstatic! Payton, who was always particularly bonded to Stormy, could hardly contain himself! This reaction to being reunited sealed the deal, and the rest is history! Congratulations to this big beautiful family!
