Lilly & Payton
FOSTER NEEDED ASAP for bonded pair – 7 yr old female Shiba & 11 yr old male Dachshund/Terrier mix:
This adorable pair are in need of a new home by end of June. They are deeply bonded to each other and must be placed together. Lilly has never known life without her older brother, Payton, and she likes to keep him close and protected. Lilly is a 7 year old purebred Shiba and weighs approximately 20lbs. Payton is an 11 yr old male Dachshund/Terrier mix, and weighs about 15 lbs.
Both dogs are in good health. Lilly has seasonal allergies that are manageable with a shot in the fall. Like most Shibas, Lilly can be hit or miss with other dogs. Payton likes every dog he meets. Both dogs have lived successfully with cats and children as young as 10. They are both house trained and crate trained. In fact, they prefer to be crated together.
They are used to a home with a yard, and would likely not transition well to apartment/condo life. Payton is prone to separation anxiety and they are accustomed to having someone home majority of the day.
Changes in their mom’s life means they will be left home alone for up to 16 hrs a day, and in need of dog sitting for weeks at a time due to work travel. She loves them enough to want better for them and has made the difficult decision to surrender. They will need a foster home by the end of June.
