Lyra
11 month old female Shiba Inu, no dogs, no kids, no apts/condos $350 adoption fee
Lyra is such a pretty girl, and full of personality! Unlike most Shibas her age, she has a calm demeanor when inside the house. When she is outdoors, however, she is transformed into an excitable, vibrant puppy with a lust for life! Lyra was removed from her home because the other Shiba was aggressive towards her, resulting in Lyra’s resource guarding and anxiety around other dogs. With her resource guarding, lack of socialization, and her desire to be in charge, she needs to be an only dog in her home. We believe she may be able to have doggy friends and playmates with enough training/socialization, and experienced human supervision. Lyra also needs a home with no children. She has not been tested with cats. She is a vocal Shiba who lives for the outdoors, so an apartment would not be a good fit for her.
Lyra is house trained, crate trained, and learning to walk well on leash. She needs a home with a yard (securely fenced, of course) to feed her need to frolic in the leaves and snow! Even with a yard time, she will still require at least one walk per day to keep her properly exercised, stimulated, and socialized. She will need training beyond the initial COSIR sponsored class, so potential adopters should consider the time commitment that will be required.
Lyra’s adoption fee is $350 and includes her spay, vaccinations, heartworm test, microchip, and group training class or initial private session with a COSIR approved trainer.
