Mona
4 yr old female Shiba

This precious little girl was surrendered because her habitual escaping was getting her owner into trouble with her neighbors and the city. She was in a home full of kids, and other dogs, and she was not getting the attention, exercise, and stimulation she needed. She deserved better.
The day we took Mona into rescue, our volunteer noticed blood in her urine. Upon examination, the vet discovered a massive bladder stone, taking up 90% of her bladder, and emergency surgery was required to remove it. She clearly had been suffering for some time. We are extremely grateful we were able to get her into rescue so quickly. Had it gone on much longer, her bladder could have exploded and she could have died.
Mona was been placed in a foster-to-adopt foster home carefully selected from our adoption waitlist. She is recovering from her surgery and has already formed an amazing bond with her humans and big brother; a German Shepherd/Husky mix. The foster plans to adopt Mona after successfully completing a trial period, so we are not taking applications for her.
