Nami has been ADOPTED!! 6 yr old Nami spent spent her early puppyhood being crated 18 hrs a day, and was never socialized. Rescued at 6 months, she was happy until 2 other dogs joined the family. Despite their best efforts, Nami was always fearful around the dogs, and her anxiety was growing with a baby on the way. She needed a home with no pets or kids to live her best life. This kind of home is not easy to find, so Nami was likely to be on our waitlist for while.
Sarah and Andrew had also been on our waitlist for some time. They needed time to mourn the loss of their Shiba, but they were also from out-of-state. Adopting to folks from out of state is not always feasible, but Sarah and Andrew had great experience with the breed and know how to handle some of the challenges they’d face. They were also in a unique position to give Nami exactly what she needed; a home with no kids or pets! Something we had not yet been able to find in CO, so Nami was not even in rescue yet. We wouldn’t dream of letting that stop Nami from getting into this amazing forever home, so we coordinated Sarah and Andrew coming out to CO, made the introductions to Nami’s family, and facilitated a private adoption between the two parties. We call it a “passthrough adoption”, aka A HUGE WIN for sweet little Nami!
All reports from Sarah and Andrew are that Nami is doing fantastic in her new home. She’s a west coast girl now, and loving her new life! Congrats to Sarah, Andrew, and Nami. It was our pleasure to help bring this happy family together!
