Nico

8 y/o male Shiba, no cats, $175 adoption fee

Nico is a charming, curious, and friendly little guy looking for a loving forever home.  He is very independent, yet affectionate and loves pets and belly rubs while he’s lounging around.  He will paw at you to let you know he wasn’t quite done being pet if you stop before he’s ready.  He likes meeting new people, but will shy away from anyone that approaches too aggressively.  Nico can be a bit of a couch potato, but likes playing fetch and tug-of-war and will drop his toys at your hand to let you know it’s playtime.  When it comes to toys; the squeakier, the better for Nico!

Nico is house trained, walks well on leash, has good manners and knows basic commands.  He is crate trained, but is most comfortable on his dog bed.  Nico tolerates other dogs, but is not interested in playing with them and likes his space.  He can get a bit grumpy around puppies, or any dog that is too exuberant, so if his forever home has other dogs, they will have to respect his boundaries.  Nico is really good at terrorizing cats, so he cannot live in a home with cats.  Nico has not been assessed with children.

Nico is not a particularly vocal Shiba.  He will bark quietly and briefly when someone knocks on the door, or he hears another dog in the hallway outside his apartment.  Nico needs a moderately active home that will give him his daily walks in the morning and evening, but otherwise, he’s happy to chill out and play fetch.  Nico is allergic to soy and will always need a soy-free food.

Nico’s adoption fee is $175 and includes his neuter, vaccinations, microchip, and heartworm test.
