Regina (now Beana)

11 yr old female Shiba, $50 adoption fee
Regina is 11 years old, but don’t let her age fool you, she is full of energy and life! She is good with other dogs, is house trained, good on leash, loves people (especially men) and her backyard. She has limited exposure to children, but did very well when a 1 yr old and a 3 yr old came over to visit. She has not been tested with cats.
She has lived her entire life with one family until a few months ago, when her mom’s living situation changed and she could no longer keep her. A friend of the family took her hoping to find her a home, and eventually contacted COSIR for help as she was running out of time before she would no longer be able to keep her either.
Regina is house trained, and knows basic commands. She has only been in a crate once when making a cross country move, and at this age, there’s no point in trying to crate her. She’s very well behaved. She is a quiet sweet mellow personality, and s very well socialized girl.
According to her previous owner, she suffered an eye injury about 2 years ago leaving her blind, but is fine. Upon her initial exam with rescue vets, it was discovered that the eye is not in good shape, causing her a lot of pain, and needs to be removed immediately. We have scheduled her for surgery in a couple days. We are thankful to be able to finally relieve her pain and find her a wonderful, loving forever home.
