Rocky – 12 yr old male Shiba, no dogs, female only home

UPDATE: Owner has found a family member who can provide a good home for Rocky. He is doing well there. We continue to check in with them and are ready to help if it does not work out.

We need a FOSTER or ADOPTER in order to bring this dog into rescue ASAP!  He has a history of abuse by men, and a fear-based bite history (with men only). He has spent his life being chained up outside. We desperately want to get him into rescue and put a stop to this, but we need a foster home in order to do that. He is good with women and children. Given his history with men, Rocky really needs a FEMALE ONLY home; no men (resident or regular visitors). He would also do best as an only dog, or possibly with a smaller female dog. With his history, he will need an experienced foster/adopter who knows how to interact with a traumatized dog. An abuse complaint has been filed by a neighbor, so he will end up in a shelter if we don’t get him in fast! Please let us know if you can help, and please share!
