Rusty

7 yr old male Shiba

Rusty had spent his entire life with one owner.  He’s always been loved, well cared for, and a happy boy. His dad decided that it was in his best interest not to put him through an international move with him. He contacted COSIR to ensure Rusty went to the right forever home. Rusty is a very sweet, quiet, and curious boy who is very friendly with new people and dogs. He has lived successfully with other dogs, but has not been tested with cats. He has not lived with kids, but has tested well with them.

Rusty is house trained and crate trained, however, he has not used a crate in a few years. He is well behaved and does not need to be crated.  Rusty walks well on leash and really enjoys his adventures.  He has excellent manners and knows his basic commands.  He even comes when he’s called pretty reliably, which is not usually the case with Shibas!  Rusty has lived successfully both in an apartment, and a home with a yard, but seems to really enjoy having an outdoor space to call his own.

Rusty has been placed in a loving foster home, carefully selected from our waitlist. He is settling in nicely and they plan to adopt him after a trial period.  Rusty has had a wellness check with a rescue vet and been given a clean bill of health. We will let him continue to bond with his new family and acclimate to his new home. Stay tuned for news of his adoption being finalized!
