Nala

7 yr old female Shiba Inu –
Nala’s family was no longer able to give her, and her sister Aleu, the attention they deserve and have surrendered them to rescue. We were fortunate to find a foster home willing to take them both so they could stay together. We believe they may be able to be adopted out separately, but Nala will need another dog in the home if placed without Aleu.
Nala is a very soft, sweet, sensitive girl, who’s incredibly bonded to her family. She is very close to the young children in her home. She prefers to be near them and lay with them whenever possible. She will likely be heartbroken to lose them. A home with kids that she can bond to would help ease her transition.
Nala is dog friendly; she generally ignores them. She is however, quite bonded to her sister Alue. (more so than Aleu is to her). If placed separately from her sister, Nala will need a home that has another dog willing to be her buddy and make her feel secure. Nala has not been tested with cats.
Sadly, this will be the 2nd time that Nala is being rehomed. She is so attached to her sister and humans, she is likely to struggle with the transition to a new home. She will need someone with the time and patience to make her feel special and loved. She’s a bit plump so her foster will need to commit to a healthy diet and keeping her active, so she can shed the extra pounds.
Nala is house trained. She has never been crate trained, but is a well behaved girl and can be trusted left loose in the house when her humans are not home.
We are going to give Nala and Aleu time to settle into their foster home and get over the trauma of the transition. In the meantime, they will see a rescue vet. Once we feel we know them well enough to say for sure what they need in a forever home, we will make them available for adoption.
Nala’s adoption fee will be $175 and includes her spay, vaccines, heartworm test, and microchip.
